Review Detail
Jamorama's creator Ben Edwards has experience as a professional musician as well as a degree in education. He's put together a highly valuable course that has become one of the biggest selling online guitar courses available today.
The quality of the videos is first class. Having the audio and video representation of the lessons in such clarity is a huge advantage - especially for beginners. The multiple camera angles and graphic representations of the fretboard are a great reference. The high production value of these videos indicates a commitment from the creators of Jamorama to providing quality instruction.
Highlights
- Lessons for building strength and agility in your fingers (great for beginners)
- Library of commonly used chord progressions - great to help with song writing
- Teaches essential foundation guitar skills such as strumming, deadening and palm muting, hammer-ons
pull offs and vibrato
The ebooks are illustrated, well-structured and easy to read. The jam tracks which allow you to play to a backing band are an ideal way to practice and keep the fun element in the learning process. Turning the lead guitar track off is also a way to practice improvisation for more intermediate players. Unlike some other products, you don't have the ability to speed up or slow down the jam tracks.
The included software bundle is a valuable addition - especially the ear training and guitar tuning elements - both are quite effective. The included metronome is not a bad thing in itself, but there are already a large number of free metronomes available over the internet.
Jamorama is ideally suited to beginners and some intermediate players. It does a great job of providing an affordable, enjoyable platform for those who would like to get a foundation in the basics of playing the guitar.
